|Any member of the public, private, or educational organization can hoist or display the national flag on all days and occasions, whether ceremonial or not.|
|The flag can be hoisted and displayed day and night if it is in an open area where people can watch.|
|The flag can be of any size, but must be rectangular in shape with a length-to-width ratio of 3:2.|
|When displayed, the national flag must be positioned appropriately and be clearly visible.|
|The flag should not be damaged or disheveled when displayed.|
|No other flags should be hoisted or displayed from the same masthead as the Indian national flag.|
|No other flags or bunting should be hoisted above or alongside the Indian national flag.|
|Only dignitaries such as the President, Vice-President, Prime Minister, Governors, etc. are permitted to fly the national flag on their vehicles.|
